Cost trends of solar industial heat worldwide

Large-scale solar thermal systems generate their heat more and more cost-competitive. This is shown very clearly in a new flyer "Cost Trends of Solar Energy for Heat in Industry" published in August 2021 within the Solar Payback project.

For this purpose, solrico has gathered cost and performance data from several hundred large-scale solar thermal systems with an output of 35 kW or more worldwide. In cooperation with IRENA this unique dataset of cost and performance indicators were analysed. Cost reduction factors are economies of scale and a mature supply chain.
