First generation of industrial heat pumps for district heating

The market for high-temperature heat pumps is developing very dynamically. The number of manufacturers globally has doubled in the last six years. In Germany, several industrial heat pumps with over 100 MW per system are being planned. They will provide over 90 °C heat for district heating. This is a considerable leap in power compared to the first-generation plants with 3 to 10 MW that went into operation in recent years. solrico published a series of news articles about industrial heat pumps on solarthermalworld.org.
