Solar and renewable building codes

In cooperation with the EU project MED Desire solrico updated the world map of solar / renewable obligations and carried out a study in July / August 2015 on solar / renewable building codes in the MENA region.

Some good ideas take a while to be copied. This is the case with solar / renewable obligations, which were introduced in Israel more than 30 years ago. Within the last ten years, additional 21 countries implemented such policies on all five continents. In cooperation with the EU project MED Desire solrico updated the world map of solar / renewable obligations and carried out a study in July / August 2015 on solar / renewable building codes in the MENA region. The countries of the Golf Cooperation Council (GCC) take a completely different path to green and sustainable buildings following the World Green Building Council. There are 823 premises in the United Arab Emirates, 218 in Saudi Arabia and 97 in Qatar that have a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) accreditation with little impact on solar thermal deployment.
