The ISOL Navigator December 2011 presents the current and future development of the global solar thermal market and analyses the market situation in 16 key solar heating and cooling countries from all corners of the globe: Austria, Brazil, China, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, India, Italy, Mexico, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Turkey and the USA.
The 70-page study was published in December 2011 and features a compass through the global solar heating and cooling industry.
For the first time, the ISOL Navigator highlights the winners within the global solar thermal supply chain and looks at solar thermal system prices and their influence on the development of national markets.
2011 is a much more difficult year for the solar thermal industry than the year 2010. The ISOL Index in December 2011 shows the lowest score ever with 41 points. The negative trend is due to the dissatisfying business situation in the North Mediterranean countries and the pessimistic forecast in most European countries.
The good news: The number of companies participating in the ISOL Index survey has increased significantly since the start from 203 companies in June 2010 to 383 companies in December 2011. In total the database includes now 1,140 filled in questionnaires across four surveys.
The ISOL Navigator is based on the ISOL Index, an international business climate index surveyed since the beginning of 2010. This ISOL index is a point-based indicator (ranging from 0 to 100 points) showing the satisfaction of solar thermal manufacturers and system suppliers with current and expected market development. Company values are averaged to obtain country and regional indices.
