SMEThermal 2011: Call for papers

All component manufacturers, production equipment suppliers, material suppliers, engineering companies and reserchers in the solar thermal sector are invited to submit a presentation for the international conference SMEThermal 2011 which will take place in Berlin, Germany, on 10 February 2011.

The abstract should explain the key issues you like to cover in the presentation and their relevance to the conference. The abstract should not be longer than one page. It should be accompanied by short biographical note about its author.

Contributions may be submitted which address the following topics:

Production:

Optimization of processes, handling of materials, innovations, new developments in automation, quality control options, new production equipment solutions

Quality and reliability of materials:

Long-term durability of materials (test results), quality improvements in the coating of absorbers and glass covers, improved quality standards of suppliers

New materials:

Innovations in tank and collector production, such as aluminium for tubing, plastic for absorbers, insulation materials for tanks, as well as collectors and corrosion protection in tanks

Costs:

Cost reduction potential throughout the value chain, price evolution for raw materials and intermediate products

Guidelines for submitting a paper:

Selection criteria are the relevance of the topic for the participants of the SMEThermal conference and the neutrality of the presentation. Company and product presentations will not be considered.
Due to the limited number of speaking slots available, and due to the need of creating a programme which treats different issues from different point of views, it may be possible that some relevant and high-quality abstracts do not find there way into the conference schedule.

Program advisers

Bärbel Epp, Managing Director of solrico, and Raffaele Piria, Senior Consultant of the Berlin-based consultancy eclareon are again responsible for the conference's programme.
